1. 

   1. Crease in half both ways

   Start white side up. Fold in half horizontally and vertically, then unfold to find the centre.

2. 

   2. Fold the corners to the centre

   Fold each corner to the centre point. The coloured side forms a diamond.

3. 

   3. Fold to the centre again

   Fold the top, left, bottom and right corners of the diamond to the centre, making a smaller square.

4. 

   4. Make the third blintz

   Fold the four corners of the small square to the centre once more. Press the thick folds firmly.

5. 

   5. Open the outer petals

   Fold the four exposed centre flaps outward. Let their tips extend a little beyond the sloping edges of the diamond.

6. 

   6. Open the middle petals

   Fold the four newly exposed centre flaps outward in half. Bring their tips to the edges of the first petals.

7. 

   7. Open the inner petals

   Fold the last four exposed centre tips outward to make a small inner ring around the white centre.

8. 

   8. Fold the outer tips behind

   Mountain-fold the top, left, bottom and right tips behind a little, completing the flat rose with a rounded outline.
